Deployment Support at Trinity Lutheran Church
At Trinity Lutheran Church, we want to be supportive of our military families, particularly during a time of deployment. Here are some ways we offer care to deployed military personnel and their families:
1) We list the names of deployed members in the bulletin each week and remember them in the prayers. When there is a deployment, please call the church office (919-776-1723) to let us know.
2) If life becomes overwhelming for the family at home, our Martha Ministry is available to bring some meals to help out during difficult times. All you need to do is call the church office.
3) On the Sunday before deployment begins, we can use a service of Farewell & Godspeed in worship. Military service personnel often find this brief service to be affirming of them and their family. Just let the pastor know if you would like to use this service. We realize that deployment schedules sometimes change at the last minute, so we are flexible, but please let us know as far ahead of time as you can. (But don’t worry if you can’t–we understand!)
4) Tamara Lewis, our Music Director, has a choir anthem that can be sung on the Sunday before the deployment, either as part of worship or during coffee hour in the Fellowship Hall.
Any time our pastor can be of help to talk with you about your situation or needs, please do not hesitate to contact the church office. You are in our prayers.
We realize that deployment is an extremely stressful time for military personnel and families. We hope that you will find some of these resources helpful. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know so that we can assist you in ways that will be truly helpful.
We love you very much! You are special to us, and we want to lift you up in prayer and be of support.
May God richly bless you and keep you in his loving care!
